Do any of you know where I can buy good quality drum wrapping? I have an old kit that I want to cover and bring back alive.

foreverain4 said:i did the same with an old set. at work (i work for a cabinet company) we have this stuff called "skin" . it is paper thin wood. anyway, i bought a few sheets of birdseye maple and covered mine. i then put a nice natural finish on them. they are beautiful! i get comments on them all the time. i can find out the technical term for this stuff tomorrow if you are interested!

foreverain4 said:the tech term is actually "skin" or "10 millimeter veneer" . you will have to check at a plywood supply place. a place like home depot may be able to get it, but i doubt they stock it. you can get it with either a paper backer or wood backer. i used the wood backer so it was more like adding an extra ply to my drums. the major drawback is this stuff is $500 for a 4'x 8' sheet. then you have to cut it and glue it on yourself. it changed the sound of the drums as well. the drums were mahogany, and with the maple outer ply it added a little more attack and sustain.
