bE CAREFUL WITH ALL THOSE FENDERS NEAR THE WATER LIKE THAT!!!!!!!

I had a JCM900 for a long time and it had to have been one of the worst sounding heads I'd ever heard. The distortion was muddy and the clean wasn't very impressive either. My old crate stealth GT-50 sounds better. Just like with any amp, it really depends on the sound you're personally going for. I'm not a fan of the distortion I've heard on most marshall heads (and I've heard many, many of them.)

I personally own a B-52 AT-100 because it sounds ridiculous. :D

I run it through my mesa boogie 4x12. :D :D

Playing either my American strat or my standard tele (which has an emg-81 just waiting to be put in!.) :D :D :D

HUGE sound.

That's just my opinion on marshall heads though. I do however love the cabs.

btw the new b-52's are a new industry secret to amazing sound. buy them while they're still cheap!

Nope! I've passed the provincial standard hearing test for police officers just a couple weeks ago.

If you had one that was muddy, there was a problem with it.
There's not a Crate on the face of the earth that sounds better than a Marshall. Blind taste tests' say so!

I loved my JCM800 growing up...lots of volume power for jamming in the basement with my friends. Now I want a flat response amp to go with my GT-8 pedal.

Get an old Hiwatt. Awesome amp for pedals.

Because they don't want to advertise goods for free? Because they don't want their fans thinking that x brand is the only way to go?

A JCM900 would probably be my last pick out of all the Marshall tube amps.

Obviously I'm not the only one who isn't a fan of it...

The gain on the JCM900 was weak and to be quite frank, it had no balls. Obviously you've never heard a gt-50. Don't worry, most people haven't but those who have are amazed by its tone and versatility.

When I went to guitar center to buy a new head, I tried out multiple marshall heads. I originally had my eye on the JCM2000 DSL100 and loved the tremendous amount of gain on it. I thought it sounded great... until I heard the B-52. The newer marshalls do not rack up to the older models, plain and simple. Unless you find a vintage marshall, IMO you aren't getting your money's worth. People tend to assume that an amp must sound great because of the name stamped on the front of it. There are many companies out there that I would choose over marshall (i.e. mesa, soldano, orange, bogner, hiwatt, framus... shall I go on?)

Now, while I consider myself a complete (pardon my use of this word) "noob" in regards to home recording/recording gear, I absolutely do not second guess myself when it comes to guitar gear.

The reason marshall's used to rule the world is because at the time when they did, they were excellently crafted and made to produce ear-gasms. Things change.

Sound is an opinion, but quality is not.

I LOVE Fenders and that's obvious, but I just remember seeing walls of Marshalls in all those concerts. It's really weird that I never owned a Marshall stack being subjected to all those amps. Here's some other Pics for you Marshall guys.

I'm sure you guys can appreciate a pic of a Marshall cab like this!!

Most are not purposely removed. They are knocked off during transit from gig to gig. Mine went from Marshall, to Marshal, to Mars a, to ars. Then "a" for a long time and finally blank. Sometimes, they are blacked out on purpose due to sponsor conflicts, etc.

alot of guys take the logos off the amp and cab. i'm one of those type of guys.

If I had the cash and could locate everyone of these colored Marshall heads, I'd snag all of them.I thinks the colored Marshall heads probably sound better.
Right?

Not me. I'm especially proud of my Behringer logo. I'm trying to figure out a way to light it for all to see... :D

did'nt they teach you anything? put a tube behind it.

I have played thru and owned a _hit load of different amps in my day.
My old Traynor stack would blow away anything Marshall ever made.
I used to laugh my ass of at Marshall guys carring spare tubes and spare heads. They failed with frightnig regularity. The newer ones are better. I wish I still had that old Traynor rigg back though. Sold it around 30 years ago ... that was a mistake.

Yeah. I was thinking along the lines of pink neon though. There's nothing like a wall of V-Tones delivering that warm, and raging wall of modeled sound while bathed in a pink glow. I'd have to rig a switch so I could shut the light off in the event of a sponsor conflict.

I used an old Vargis in the late 70's - crappy/great all in one & could do it's own smoke effects too.

What I would like to know is how all these high school aged kids end up with these Marshall stacks these days. And many of them are new stacks. I just can't see how anyone can afford such a thing...

I mean, I'm a keyboardist, and I think that my Crate KBA150 was a massive value at $300 used, but who can afford such things at that age?
