Hi all.

Haven't posted much here lately (or written much new music lately either!).

Anyways this song is sort of Ben Folds-esche and would certainly appreciate any advice on improving it!

->When Cathy Comes To Town<-

Thanks,
Jeff

Wow

You are a monster on the piano.
How are you producing the bass?
Real Instrument?
It sits pretty well in the mix.
You work well with the drums which sound just OK......
How are you producing the drum sounds?
Solid song-writing.

Ooh. I am liking this. Definitely worth another couple or more listens

Wildcard status: Almost there. Lots of melodic potential.

Nice piano. Nice lead vocal. Didn't care much for the BGV's.

Style-wise it sounds like a theme song for a new sitcom. Sort of cross between Cheers and Friends. :)

Thanks guys!

HevyD47Ca: The bass and drums are all from my Yamaha Motif workstation. I think I ran the bass track through a RNP preamp and though when I recorded it.

dachay2tnr: Well it's a sorry excuse, but I will have to admit I didn't put too much time in the backing vocals on this one. When I get close to completion of a song, I start working really fast because I want the final product. I don't hate the bv's but do think there is room for improvement. I think I'll probably go back and recreate something here.... it IS nice to have it pointed out.

BTW - I just updated my home studio page if anyone is interested in seeing the type of equipment that I have.

Thanks all!

Jeff - that really kicks. IMO, better than Ben folds etc. So you do a lot of web work too? I get the feeling you are very organized. Your site and your tune suggests precision to me.

junplugged, I'm not as organized as I would like to be (you should see the cords in my studio!!).

For some reason I get a lot of satisfaction from working with web page design and graphics - almost as much as I do from creating music - it's probably somehow satisfies needs in the same area. I have done several web pages for some nonprofit organizations as a volunteer though I don't do it for a living.
