mucis procedure
I produced a music video for an artist.
I did all the recording, mixing, mastering and videography. I was also responsible for all the license fee needed to sell it on ITunes. I even market the track by myself.
So all the artist did was just sing. I am a broke producer so I couldnt give the artist the money but still she agreed since of course she really like to have a music video.
She could not afford to pay the studio time so,
We agreed of 75% mine 25% share from itunes sale.
So I write my record label name on the music track.
Please let me know if the above is fair enough.

Second case.
I will be producing another artist.
I will do the recording, mixing, mastering and videography.
This will be her original composition, so we agreed to help each other market the music by ourselves.
She cant afford to pay the studio time , since its her original composition, we agreed a 50/50 share from Itunes sale.

My question is do I have the power to write my record label name on her music?

It's all about what your client is willing to agree to - you have some powerful sway as these folks can't afford to pay studio fees and, so, they are on the hook in this respect.

This is definitely something you should have worked out before with the first artist you mentioned; but, it was the responsibility of both parties to make an agreement on the issue. I would be flexible if they push back - you've entered a grey area and it is more important to maintain your reputation as a fair services provider.

Just be sure to discuss this element in your negotiations with your second client.
