I started doing music on a Tascam Porta one. Loved that machine. Still have it in the original box. Now I have a few 244's and looking at a 388. I did lots on songs that ended up on albums from my Porta one. I like the lo-fi sound so it works. I Like to mix in a song or two from the 4 track with bigger songs from studio into an album. With good mastering it all fits. Next album might be 388 and 244 only. Skip the studio.
 
Started with a:

Then went to:
424 MKIII
DP-02
and now DP-24
.......still have them all, but the Teac needs work. Many years of music and fun!
 
I have a DP-008 8 track recorder, bought it without a manual so still trying to figure out how to use it.
 
I'm using a Tascam 2488 Neo. For some recordings I use a Behringer Xenyx 2442 mixer if I am recording a band with two or more vocalists - mics plugged into mixer, output from direct outputs into the Tascam. Main out from the Behringer to Behringer Powerplay headphone amps. The Neo, in my opinion, cannot be bettered.

i bought a 4-pak of TASCAM headphones for my studio garage...cost $$$30 bucks on ebay

Looking hard for a 388 the past few months while I have some cash saved. Anyone in UK/France/Belgium/Germany looking to sell one at the moment?

Wish I still had my 32, but sold it a while back caus I needed the money very badly!

Yeah the 32 I had was immaculate and my first 'proper' deck, bought second hand in 2009 but was as new...hated to see it go!
