Hello All--
First post to this forum...long time musician and home recording studio owner.
I recently moved all of my recording software and gear from Win XP 32-bit to Win 7 64-bit, as well as a 64-bit host (Sonar). My MIDI interface engine is/was an eMagic AMT8. Legacy gear--but stable and useful for many long years. It has now become obsolete as there are no drivers that will work with my current setup. That's OK, I let it hold me back from upgrading long enough.
I have a MIDI drum controller I use with soft synth drums (kontakt). The sensitivity and response has been fine whether with AMT8/kontak or stand alone. Since my AMT8 is out of the picture, I plugged my MIDI drums into my Echo Layla24 3Gs MIDI in. Now, when I play within SONAR, the response and sensitivity is horrible, no matter what I change it to in kontakt.
Since this is the first for so many things after migrating everything, I don't know if it's the Layla24 MIDI in that is causing the poor response from the MIDI drums or something else. Since I suspect it's the Layla, I thought I would check here to see if anyone has any input (pardon the pun) on the matter?
I have no problem getting a little 1 or 2 i/o MIDI interface if I need to, but would rather find out if that's the issue first. Obviously I didn't buy the Layla for the MIDI interface--but since it has one, what the heck? Save some money.
Long post--sorry. Just thought you should know the story.
