Here is what I am using in my little studio
DAW: Sony ACID Pro 7 (Yes Really!)
Computer: self made behemoth
Interface: M-Audio Profire 610
A/D Converters: Black Lion Audio Sparrow 2 Channel
D/A/Monitor control: TC electronics BMC-2, 2 Channel
Outboard Pre Amps: Black Lion Audio Auteur
Outboard Compressors: ART Pro VLA modded with NOS RCA Tubes for the Preamp stage
Summing: Black Lion Audio Modded PM8
Mics: Shure SM7B, SM27, SM57 x2, Beta 58a, Neuman KM 184 (just got it for acoustic guitar recording, Yay!)
Monitors: KRK VXT 4
Room Treatment: Mixture of GIK and ATS Broadband 4"x24"x48" (8 pannels in total)
Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Standard, Epiphone Les Paul Standard (heavilly modded to 50's set up), Fender Reverberator, Martin 000-15
Amp: Fender Blues Junior NOS, Waves GTR 3.5
Soft Synths: Ni Komplete & Session strings, Garritan Personal Orchetra, Toontrack EZ Drummer
VST Plugs: Waves SSL 4K, Waves C1, Waves Supertap Delay, Waves ren Verb, Bootsy ferric TDS. That's all I allow myself to use trying to keep things simple
Recording set up: Mic>Auteur>Sparrow> SPDIF to Profire into computer
Mixing set up: I mix into 5 sub busses to get 8 outs to use the analog summing to a stereo master, so 1&2 Stereo Gits, 3&4 Stereo Drums, 5&6 stereo Keys and FX, 7 mono Bass, 8 Mono Vox then:
DAW> Profire D/A 8 Outs> BLA PM8 summed to 2 outs>(Sometimes slap the VLA across the Outs as a Mixbus comp)Sparrow>SPDIF>Input bus in ACID(sometimes slap a VST SSL Masterbus Comp here)>track to record summed 2 track>master outs to SPIDF>BMC-2>Monitors (allows me to monitor the outbourd summing while I mix) and 2 x BCF 2000 control surface to give me 16 channels of hands on faders
Rather a convoluted mixing set up but lets me get a little bit of analog feel without having to buy a desk
