Okay, it was a Plug-in for Sound Forge 4.5, it went for $300 US.

Then, all of a sudden it was taken off the market, no reason explained or anything!

What's up with that? Someone tell me! Does anyone have a copy of this and Sound Forge 4.5?

Let me know, thanks.

CD Architect

CD Arch is a great program ,I have loved using for many years. It was introduced (as far as I can tell) with Sound Forge 4.0 and SF xp version through 4.5 but was dropped at 5.0 by Sonic foundry as a stand alone plugin due (supposedly) to the fact that once CD burners went from mainly SCSI to a prolific amount of EIDE types they did not want to keep up with the growing amount of work to build drivers for them.It is included with (incorporated into) the newest version of Vegas Video 3 (if you dont mind spending the $300 or so bucks). If you find the program rev 4.5 you should be ok because it supports many newer burners. There is also a supplimentary program called CD Burn written by a fine gentleman that will let you use most any version of CD Arch with newer burners. If you need any other info give me a shout.

thank u!

thanks so much tmix, me and my friend have tryin to find it for years now. (due to mishaps of other friends who have the tendency to LOSE/ERASE things! LOL)

I'm going to look up the things you suggested, and I'm going to print this out and show this to my friend. This seems to explain alot!

If you know a good place I can get a copy of CD Arch., please let me know!

Peace.

Where can I get this "CD Burn" ???

CDP Burn

The program CDP Burn (I think I misspelled it before) can be found at: http://www.projecteva.net/index.shtml
It is a great little free program that was a Godsend to me (so after downloading ,thank the man!) It does not come with any instructions, so if you will bear with me I will try to explain how to use it.
1) You first use CD architect just like you always would but when you are finished instead of invoking the burning program in CDA just save the project in a known location. (it will be saved as a .cdp extension)
2) Launch CDP Burn use the open browser to locate the saved project. The rest of the program will walk you through the burning process. It is similar to the original in CD Architect.
The program was created to enable people to continue to use CD Architect with a growing number of new CD burners that were not supported by the original program.
If you are using an older burner or a SCSI burner, you may not need the program, you may be able to just use the burning utility in CDA. I however was not able to. Every time I tried to use my Plextor EIDE burner it would fail during the burn giving me a useless CD.
If you have any other questions, give me a shout! I can always be reached at this BBS or directly at tmix@bigfoot.com

Hi I use to have this problem with my old sound forge xp bundled together with cd architect. it was grate untill my old philips 3610 did the bird on me,so,I had to buy a new burner and I am now a owner of nice velo cd tdk 16/10/40 and guess what, cd arch did not see it. So I was stumped the to find out that vegas vedio 3 had this feature of cd architect. No way was I going to spend that kind of money in a video software package just to continue useing CDA. I dont do video, why do I need it? so I said "OK" and they lost me as a costermer and I went straight for steinberg wavelab. Wavelabs audio montage is the best thing in the world and it can do what CDA does plus more. That was the best move And investment I made but unfortunately it was a bad move for sound forge to pull a stunt like that just sell a product that was not moving quite they way they wanted. and they lost a custermer while doing so. to make a long story short why make me buy the product a second time when I already bought it once?

whats so hard about updating the drive for CDA?
