I'm new to recording drums. What is the quality of these "mic kits" for drum recording-

Nady
Audix Fusion 6
Audix DP5
Audix DP3
Superlux

Thanks for throwing me a bone.

i have the low end superlux's... they're actually suprisingly good o.o the overheads aren't great, but the kick picks up a lot of punch (great in my 18" bass) and the tom mics aren't *too* big. Get some CAD drum clips for the tom mics, they work great. I've got an sm57 on snare and my kit sounds delightful! PLUS, because they're a lesser-known brand, they're a hell of a lot cheaper!
i don't know about the higher end superlux's... sorry.

OH i can say that, IIRC, the audix fusions and the superlux mics are made in the same plant o.O don't hold me to that, tho.

I've done a lot of tracking with the Fusion 6 in the past with good success. Nice bang for the buck kit with a good sound.

I can get a good sound out of the Nady DMK7 mic kit. They are pretty clean.

I have a cheap-o Nady drum mic kit from a few years ago... don't like it at all. I use one of the mics for a talkback now, the others take up space in my mic cab. I suppose I'll find a use for them somewhere... someday...
