I was reading some posts a while ago and it seems
like everyone hates the 3630. I was kinda surprised
because mine seems fine:confused: it woks well for
me. And it's a dual channel compressor too so it's
like 2 compressors.
anyone here dislike the 3630? If so why?
just curious.

Thanks. Branded.

Let's not go there friend. I use one all the time too, and am happy with it's price vs. performance ratio.

Alesis had some issues at one point with QC, and possibly with specific components used in this compressor, which caused a possibly an overly high percentage of them for a time to exibit weird problems. In other situations, users were interfacing +4 inserts with the unit set to -10, thus causing problems.

If you are happy with it, great. So am I. Nothing wrong with it. It is no LA2A, but it is a usable box if you get one that is working right.

The 3630 incorporates the finest in technology which gives the unit the top-rating in dynamic signal processing. Major studios around the world employ this superb piece of electronic wizardry
in many recording and mastering projects. MSRP @ $699, this unit will afford the engineer the highest quality in compression!

Luckily for you, I have in my possession, 1 remaining 3630 that I would be willing to part with for a low price of $300! For a price like that, you will the proud owner and the envy of the recording world with this great piece of equipment in your rack!

I don't have a 3630 to sell, but I'd be willing to part with a practically new ADAT/EDIT PCI card. All software is included. Purchased for $300, yours for $150.

I believe even Sonusman owned this model at one point.:D

Q, I will pay for shipping for that 3630 to be sent to me. I need a couple more channels of compression for an upcoming project. Let me know.

The Alesis 3630 compressor works great for holding not 1 but 2 RNC compressors in your rack!

Instructions for use:

Bolt the 3630 firmly in your rack(unhooking it "indefinitely" from your audio chain)... get some good stick-on velcro from your hardware store... place the velcro on top of the 3630... gently place velcro on the bottom of your RNC(really nice compressor) and adhere it to the top of your 3630...with proper placing the 3630 shelf will hold 2 RNC compressors with some room to spare!

This is by far the best use of the 3630!

I cannot tell a lie. :( Here's my 3630 being held up by the Art tube pre that Ed recommended.
