what's the deal about the mpc2000 and mpc3000?

I am strongly considering purchasing an mpc2000 but I wanted to do a little research before I went down to the local music store and looked like a total whale. I am interested in a sampler/sequencer that will be perfect for production in hip hop beats. Would the mpc 2000 be what I need? And what is the level of difficulty on usage of the machine? What is so much more special about the mpc3000 that it is almost three times the price?

Basically the mpc3000 is a quality piece and the mpc2000 is made from cheaper materials. Also the 3000 comes with 10 outputs standard while the 2000 requires the purchase of an 8 output expander. Hence the 3000 costs more. If you can afford it GET THE 3000!!!

The 8 extra outputs for the MPC2000 is $300 I think, so no, that doesn't explain why the MPC3000 is 3 times as expensive. I have still to see any kind of reasonable explanation, although obviously, there has to be one....
