What's happemed to my mic??? :-(

I bought a used NT1-A... I used it once, seemed to work fine. Tried it again after a break of a couple of months, didnt go... Wasn't sure if it was user error with the interface or something, unscrewed it to see if any wores were broken or anything. Couldn't see anything so tried again. Now it 'works', but makes bad sounds on plosives. Not just popping, crackles and things. I've posted a test file.

Is this indicative of anything specific, does anyone know?

Sounds as if the diaphragm is bottoming out. Could be dirty or what have you.

Rode have very good warranty, they will even warrant second hand gear, give them a ring and describe the problem, they may fix it for free. They fixed a second hand NT1000 that I had bought, even paid for the return postage.

thanks for that input, I've emailed rode to see what they say... Modding it is an interesting proposition, if a bit beyond my budget right now.
