What's goin' on with everybody

I took a bike ride this morning down the way and cross crossed the street up on my way back. Now I’m drinking a beer and working. I may drink wine and grill some food later…and do a couple of one hits

Do you douse the coals as soon as you no longer need them so you can dry them out and re-use them? I've discovered you can stretch out the utility of charcoal that way.
I do. I cover them and close all vents and they extinguish within minutes. Charcoal ain’t cheap so I squeeze every bit I can from it.

Riding earlier I spotted a nice big multi level gas grill in a swale out for hard trash pickup. I don’t like gas but it has a nice big charcoal area inside and I could always fabricate or buy a couple of cheap grates. This little $15 mic grill works but it’s pretty fucking tiny

Myth: WD-40 Multi-Use Product should not be used on bike chains.

Fact: While WD-40 Multi-Use Product it is not a grease, it is formulated with strong lubricating oils and other ingredients, and is a terrific product to use for bike maintenance. It does not attract dirt or moisture to metal surfaces – just be sure to wipe off any excess WD-40 Multi-Use Product before riding.
For long-term lubrication and other specialized bicycle maintenance needs, check out WD-40 Specialist BIKE products. Developed specifically for cyclists and mechanics, this high-performance line of bicycle care products is sure to become a mainstay in the toolboxes of bike mechanics for decades.
I hadn't been aware that WD40 make a specific bike lubricant. Original formula is probably better than nothing but there are a lot of purpose-made bike chain lubricants. Bike chain maintenance should also include using a chain scrubber to get rid of debris - road dirt and metal particles from the chain itself.

“WD-40 MULTI-USE PRODUCT CURES ARTHRITIS!” NO WAY.

Myth: WD-40 Multi-Use Product cures arthritis.

Fact: This popular headline, appearing at least once a year in the tabloids, is completely FALSE. WD-40 Company does not recommend the use of WD-40 Multi-Use Product for medical purposes, and knows no reason why WD-40 Multi-Use Product would be effective for arthritis pain relief. WD-40 Multi-Use Product contains petroleum distillates and should be handled with the same precautions for any product containing this type of material.
Lol. :ROFLMAO:

Never heard that one before.

I drove down to the El Salvadoran cafecita and the grill is still on the swale but too big to load in my truck with one man. Ima see if my neighbor wants to do some dumpster diving with me later. It has the thick heavy duty grates in good condition. Probably the gas lighter assembly is fried. Perfect for a charcoal grill. Little rough exterior but my little place is a rental and nothing big or fancy, so perfect for here.

What the heck, the clam thread got closed?

I've moved since, but I used to fish a lot in the Chesapeake Bay. I mean a lot, mostly from shore. A lot. Years ago you could take a minnow bucket to the bait shop get a couple dozen gudgeons and catch flounder for as long as the gudgeons held out. Flounder are ambush feeders, take an inline weight/sinker, tie one end to the standing line, the other to about foot and half leader, and slowly drag it through the surf. Little by little, stop, a little more... until you detect a slight metallic hit on the line. Take up the slack and set the hook. All day long, which was great to introduce a kid to fishing, or someone who hasn't really fished that much, or if so doesn't usually have much luck. Striper used to come close to shore as well, certain seasons. Also, larger bluefish.

Not anymore, or less so. Flounder are more far and in-between. Some say it is because there are less Menhaden in the bay. Why? For profit companies such as Omega. Fish oil, I reckon. It's not only that they are harvesting the natural food of fish such as flounder, they also flush the holding tanks, sending out the by-product(s) of netting the Menhaden. I don't know a whole lot about it, high amounts of nitrogen. Toxic plumes.

You often hear people and politicians talk about Save The Bay. Rumors, you can't help wonder with these well intentioned politicians. If they are so concerned about the bay, why aren't they doing something? Kind of makes you wonder, know what I'm saying. It kind of makes you wonder what other people are saying, about these politicians who are so concerned about the bay, but for reason allow these for profit companies to throw the ecosystem out of whack by taking the little fish that big(ger) fish eat, and purging toxic flumes that rob the water of oxygen and kill fish.

But who really wants to talk politics, what does that have to do with anything.

And…..score! Lol

The upper shelf that is supposed to lift with the top needs work but it’s a big ass grill perfect for charcoal cooking lots of food. It’ll remain here when I leave this place (estimated in a few months) but is a welcome addition while here.

Needs a lot of TLC cleaning but the structure is solid.IMG_0967.jpeg
