hey! this is my cousin. we recorded this a couple of months ago in my home studio. we decided to do drums after we already recorded other stuff, so they arent very tight in some places. i played lead guitar and bass.

Sounds alright, but that acoustic sounds kinda hollow. There's some effects going that seem to be washing out the over-all sound. Sorry for the ambiguity, but I would try remixing without any effects, then maybe add them after the EQ is right. The guitar is just getting lost. Just my opinion.
Sounds like a pretty good song though. Worth the effort of remixing.

neato synth stuff...

some mix problems that make it boomy, [and previously mentioned] hollow sounding. Like a slice was removed surgically and there's no freqs from 500 - 2500htz...

neato vocals.

neato backwards schtuff with the acoustic solo. That part shines musically.

the drum timing snuck by me....but the mix imbalance didn't.

Very good song-I like the atmosphere-the acoustic guit sound hmmmm-it fits in the song pretty well it just doesnt sound like a real acoustic-needs a little more sparkle. I dont care for that vocal effect-sounds like a flanger. Bass guitar could come up some-Sorry if I'm sounding real critical-I like this song as much as anything I've heard here lately-I think it could sound a little better is all...Great song.

Nice tune, How'd you record that guitar? And what kind is it? I'm not much on critique yet but I know I liked it, my foot was tapin'.

the rhythm acoustic guitar was an old no namer. that is why you hear all that fret buzz. we kinda liked that sound for what we were going for. the lead guitar was a takamine martin copy. this is a sweet sounding guitar that my father gave me. the signal chain for both guitars was shure ksm32 ( i really like this mic for acoustic guitar) to art tube pac mic pre. then directly to my gadget labs wave pro sound card into vegas audio.

thank you all for you comments.

First...i like the tune. But I agree with mixmkr.... the mids sound "scooped out". You really need to put those back in....that's where all the energy is. The playing and the tune are fine to my ears.

Nice song!
I like the differance between the sound of the two guitars.
Can't comment on the eq,I'm listening on pc speakers.

I thought the production was really well done.
Vocals sound good, did you use the Shure on them?

Cool stuff!

Best to you,
Pete
