Thanks, folks, for listening.
Tim, what a cool analysis of the song. It's great knowing that some people really listen to a song closely. I appreciate it. I agree that the guitar solo level is not exactly right yet. Very close, though. It was harder than I thought it was going to be to put that in right.
Dogman, I'm afraid I've gotten rather fond of the Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, and the guy from NoMeansNo (I think it's Rob Wright), type of bass sound. Trebley, with tube distortion (or a reasonable facsimile) is what I love. It's difficult to get exactly right. I did this one on my J-Bass bridge pickup for a deeper, wood sort of tone. Maybe we could add some low EQ at mastering to thicken up the song a bit? To drastic? I'm not sure. We'll try a few things.
And Rami, we just like things dry. I had some reverb on the snare, but it just seemed to set it further back in the mix, so we bailed on it. We do use it sparingly sometimes, though. And yep, it's an elec. piano in the middle, along with an organ, amped and mic'd.
