Hey everyone, go easy on this guy.

We did give him a polite flaming before. So unless you've heard the first mix you wont apreciate the improvement here. So im going to be very honest and polite again.

song - Littlest Red

From what Im hearing there is nothing that I can say is worse than before. The drums are much better. The bass is up more in the bits where its on its own. But still a bit lost when the band comes in. You need to mix in a cleaner thumpier bass when the bands all in. With the guitars, roll off the low end. Cut fron about 200Hz down. and boost a tiny bit of 800Hz. Might help. Keep boosting the drums at about 100Hz until when you put your finger on your monitor cones there's more kick thuding your finger than guitar. The 200k down cut on the guitar will help this anyway. give the whole mix a shelf boost from about 6k up to 12k.

I hope this helps. The other guy's might have better sugestions but unless Im in front of your recording equipment, I can say any more. You've made it sound this much better, so keep going.

Hmmm....

Sounds like you've got some phase issue on the drums - cymbal splashes have that characteristic "shhheeeeeeeewwwwwwwwssssshhhhh" instead of "shhhwwwwwwwwwwwsssssshhh"

The guitars have a layer of mud over them and are fighting with everything for frequency "space". The 2nd song was better in that regard.

Drums overall are very dull sounding - but that may be a consequence of the style of music... but the snare drum in particular is muddy -- needs some more "snap".

I'm listening on smallish speakers and from their perspective bass/kick relationship is not bad, but the bass may be on the thin side or could use more depth. Again - this is either the music style of the mix -- only you can make that determination.

In any case, you're on the right track - keep at it!

Not a bad effort. On the first tune, the guiatrs just seem to get lost. Look to the mud range here (200-300hz or so cut). I can tell when the drummer starts digging his favorite part of the tune, he speeds up a bit.;)
Next tune,as Bruce pointed out, a bit of a phase issue with your overheads. They may be too far apart. It's hard to tell. Try panning everything to mono when your positioning the mics to check for phase issues. If there is one, it should stand out there. The crunch rhythm guitar sounds too distant. For this kind of tune, it should be more "in your face". The clean guiatr parts sound pretty good. Over all, not bad. We're taking things to a fine point here. Endeavor to persevere!
