What? Too early?

A hit Xmas tune is like an annuity that pays dividends same time every year. No nits on the mix, nice work.

Just in on this now, sounds great! It's not too early, you can't wait till December to record the song. I like the song itself a lot, and at this point for my first listen the recording is great, I know I missed some revs. I loved the vocal tricks in the middle eight and I thought the sound choices all contributed to the theme and atmosphere, even the "cheesey" keyboard part. Did I hear some of those cavernous cinematic percussion samples in there? Cool, can't wait to open my presents, I need coal for the furnace.

Thanks for the new comments.
RPM, the cheesy keyboard used to be really cheesy. I changed it to something more subtle a while back, which is probably what you've heard.

Going on reactions on here and elsewhere, I think we're damn close to closing the books on this one.
I've a few very minor agreed tweaks to do on Monday, and that's about it.

I'll post the final back here. Thanks so much for all the tips. Really made the difference on this one. :)
Here's what we have right now.

Finally got set back up and got to listen to this on my system. Sounds great to me. (Listening to the last link) I can hear everything you have changed on the suggestions previous. Sounds mint mate, well done!

I'll be buying it!

:thumbs up:

Damn sorry I got to this so late. Sounds fine to me overall. Well balanced. I'd actually like more of the bells. Bigger bells. Hells bells. Bring em up if you're so inclined. The sax solos make me wanna kill myself, ugh, but the rest is good. Festivus for the rest of us!

Great job,

For a Christmas song its surprisingly good. You should really be able to get some play with this. I can see this as the title track for a Christmas/holiday movie perfectly.

Fantastic recording, production, very impressive work.

Thanks Clean. Expected on evil-tunes on December 1st. ;)

You may be right. I struggled to make them heard without massive peaks. Bells are a strange thing.

YEO! I'm taking that as a good thing. :p

Thanks PDP. Feedback has really taken an uphill turn throughout this thread so thanks to all who contributed. :)
As always, it means a lot.

We were actually syncing it up with last years TV adds to see if it'd be worth making a pitch to someone.
Probably too late already though. Pipe dreaming more than anything, I think.

Actually we are doing hard copies. It was meant to be a nice touch for sending to radio, but minimum order is 50 so...there'll be spares.

I'll make sure you get one. ;)
