What the hell is this???

Forgot to mention that I uploaded a new mix before the last couple of posts.

Had to say that so that people listening now don't think Greg's ears are way off. It's because of his advice that I re-mixed.

Thanx for all the help so far, y'all. :)

It is absolutely awesome Rami. The best part of all of your songs to me is how great the bass guitar, kick and snare work together. It's probably the arrangement more than anything, but I love that punch that you get from all of your songs. I love the sound of that snare. Awesome tune.

Seems like I have heard this before a long time ago. Is this a remake of a tune you have?

Hey Trump, thanx a lot man. That means a lot to me.

No, this is a brand new tune. Maybe they're all starting to sound the same.

The "Strawberry fields" was the part that made me think it was another song. Other than that they all have that Rami sound, but don't all sound alike. I love them all dude. Keep 'em coming.

Psychedelicious fresh from the psychedelicatessen.
Chuck's farm needed this.
This mix is terrific & NO it's not 80's at all.
IF it were released in the 60's it might be termed "exploitation" in terms of the linking of psycho & psychedelic.
Mind you I LOVE expolitation films & music for their ultra low budget appeal.
This song, performance and production do NOT sound low budget or Lo Fi in any way whatso ever.
VERY enjoyable.

Thanx Ray. I try to exploit anything I can if it means getting a song finished. :D

The phrase (or word) "Psycho-delic" just popped into my head, and then I tried writing around that.

Thanx Nak. Nah, there's no phasing on the hats. In the intro, I'm just playing them wide open and really hard.:D

Thin snare is a matter of taste, I guess. I love my snare sound, but that's a personal taste thing.

Oh I see.

Regarding the snare, I've been listening to much to ringo lately :D

Rami, your stuff is always a cut above. This is right up my alley. Love the gang vocals on the chorus. Real tight.

Hi

Great stuff Rami. Always enjoys the work of a fellow Montrealer!

You're the best!

Sounds great, dude. The only thing I can think of is bring the snare up, and maybe EQ it a bit to not sound as round - and add some crack to it, but just a bit. Minor nit on that, though.

Rest of the levels sound great to my ears. Good tune, too.

I'm curious... How long does it usually take you to come up with these tunes, and get em' recorded?

the snare is wee bit thin.

snare........EQ it a bit to not sound as round
Hehe.....you guys.....Nah, I love my snare sound, as thin and round as it is. :D

Depends on the tune. I think I came up with the main riff and then the rest of the tune, and got the music recorded within a day or 2. Then, it took me a while to write the lyrics. But all in all, I guess about 4-7 days on most tunes.

What the Hell is this?? Another fine Rami classic, that's what it is!
Expertly arranged, composed, executed, the lot....those harmonies: yummy!
Reminded me of vintage Alice Cooper in a very good way. And your snare drum gives me hard-ons anyway.....:D
Shining stuff, bro!

Hey guys. I don't know how I skipped right past these two posts. Sorry about that.

I really appreciate what you both said. I'm definitely not "the best", but I'm working on it. :)

Thanx a lot Joey. Putting me in the same sentence as Alice Cooper is a major compliment to me because I grew up listening to NOTHING but Alice from the time I was 11 to the time I was 18.

Thanx man. I like it too. :)
