What tape for an Akai 4000DS MKII

Hey All,

I am now the proud owner of my first reel to reel tape machine, for the small price of $25! :) (And first real analog recording device other than my little Fostex X-12 4 track.) Anyway, I'm very excited to get started! However, I wasn't sure what type of tape would be best...I've found a website selling Quantegy tape, and I was just wondering what you guys thought would fit best with this machine.

Also, differences between 5 inch reels and 7 inch reels (other than the obvious...) I see that their 5 inch reels are more expensive, despite being quite a bit less in length.
 
I ordered a few Maxell UD 35-90s. Will these do the trick?
