What steps do you guys take for vocal mixing?

lol o na you got it twisted my dude lol dat was just one track, i am more of a hardcore type rapper, but u always gotta have dat versatility you know. But yea thats like one of the only mellow tracks ive done lol. but yea wen i get my other ones up i will send u dat. dats not my style lol real talk, i just switched it up for that track, i mean im a new york rapper from da bronx so of course i got da gritty flow ya dig. but yea just try wat i said plus all dat other compression shit i guess dat i don't understand n ya joint will come out tough
 
yeah iight Ill check out your other stuff, one thing I know I want is compression, to keep it from bein a bouncy ass track, I just need to figure out the EQs and shit, I cant seem to understand it for shit...Anyone who can explain EQing for Dummies I would appreciate the help...thanks!

I dont understand how you cant understand to just take the time to just listen and hear how your laying down your vocals.... Turn the mic up or down.... use amplify and hard limit and it will still sound better than whats on your myspace. I sounded better when I used a USB $60 Mic and my stuff sounds amazing.... Comparing. No offense. Just take your time.. theres no such thing as a 5 Hour song. IT should take hours to write... hours to record.... then more hours to mix and master....

IIght like I said in the first place...Im tryna spark up a thread for people who do not have much experience in the mixing game...Secondly I dont know what year your living in, but this thread is not a year old, Thirdly I said that my song on my myspace is crap, I called that already saying

"Oh and maybe if you could check out my music page and listen to my newbie(haha) sounding music and tell me what I can do to improve the sound...Keep in mind that this music before I took your advice and started messing more with mixing..."

Anyway I guess I should say thanks for the advice..? Even though you spent more time baggin on my old shit then tryin to actually give some advice...Whatever I guess there is a lot of ppl on here who like to spend more time puttin details on how someone isnt at their level, rather then helping them out with details on how to improve.
 
Really though...he over here baggin on my stuff when I already said its not that great..So where is this wonderful sound you have wit yo $60 crap mic???? I had the balls to put my shit on the line, all you did was say you sound better with a crappy mic...HHHmmmm:rolleyes:....Wheres the proof?;)
