List some sound modules that have nice good sounding 808 stuff...

Most of the Roland brand modules should have decent 808 sounds. They created the original TR-808 drum machine. Fruity Loops has some decent 808 samples. You can create a drum loop, export it as a wav/acidized file to be used in any recording software. Korg makes some hardware synth/sequencer/groove boxes that have some great 808 sounds.

Do you know the exact name of the one's from Korg? See I have a
Triton workstation, I love it and all but the drums just don't hit hard enough like I would want it to...

well, the Korg Electribe series are neat and very easy to handle, but the sound is just not too good. They don't sound very realistic. I am also using the EMU XL-7, which is MUCH better in terms of sound quality of the drums. The best 808 sound I found so far was on a sample CD I loaded into my VST sequencer in Logic.

Why are you still after the 808 sound? Isn't that "vintage" and a bit outdated sound already? ;-)

Not in the Rap/Hip Hop/Trance/Dance world!

Well when I mean I'm lookin for 808 sounds its mainly I'm lookin for a nice hard hitting kick drum. My korg Triton doesn't have to many that hit real hard, when I was at my friends studio he had some kick drums that were really BOOMIN!!! I'm not lookin for bass as far as to make a bass line more of kick drums ya know!!!

And if I recall my friend has a older Roland Keyboard that does take floppy disk. He said that the hard percussion sounds he had he just swapped sounds on floppy disk with someone else. So since I don't have all that money to get a sound module I was just thinkin maybe Korg sound cards will have some... so thats what was my concern..

First of all your TRITON IS A SAMPLER.... Sample your friends drums... Download some shit... Buy a SOUNDSFORSAMPLERS.COM wave file drum kit... WTF?

Next of all you can give me your TRITON and I'll beat I can send it back to you (if you're lucky) with some hard hittin cut throat drums using the internal sounds... I got a damn KORG 01/W (10 year old KORG workstation) that'll pop a 12" sub if I wanted it to. I find it hard to believe you are down to just spend more money when all you need is to explore your existing equipment.

I'm not trying to be rude but you gotta understand that you don't need shit but to put your work clothes on and get dirty. You have of the dopest workstations on the market so anything you spend on next should either be expandsion ( I know you asked) or it'll just be less than already got... You don't know what you got so save your money and learn...

Er, uh, Lazi, hmmmm (I guess its just a name) is right. You could look into the Waldorf Attack module or plug in. Great 808 and 909 sounds for that matter. but, everyone should explore what they have before gettin gmore. I, for one, have been guilty of too much too fast and thus have not used anyt hing to its fullest. I am now of the mind that I should not get anything new and work the shit out of what I have.
