What sort of seating are you using for the musicians, if any?

While scattered throughout the house due to studio remodeling, I have a 3 person sofa for relaxing, two high-back executive leather chairs for in front of the console, a piano bench, a bar stool (which guitarists seem to like) thats height adjustable, a short stool which no one seems to like, hence it becoming a small amp stand, and a couple of macy's foldable beach chairs (they look like director chairs, but pack very small).

2 easy chairs at the back of the control room, 1 high-backed chair and one computer operator-type chair for the front of the console...

A height-adjustable guitarist stool along with a fixed stool and several folding chairs for use in the studios (and/or control room)...

Cinder Blocks and Orange Crates.

:p

I'm kidding. I have a nice comfy 3 cushion sofa, a couple of office style chairs that roll around, a couple of wooden, armless chairs, and a piano bench.

I want some of Blue Bear's adjustable guitarist chairs though. Those are great!

There'll be seating on the patio too, with little tables for .... cool drinks. ;)

I have a office type chair at the console and a sofa right behind me for folks checking mixes. I have a wooden padded bar stools in the studio for guitarists and a Rock Sock I offer up to drummers.

A futon from k-mart haha (hey for 80 bucks it's quite confy and not bad)
Two bean bag chairs
one leather executive office chair in front of console (got it for free from my dads government building place)

If you know any one in that works for the government you can get a bunch of cool crap for free cuz thats where all your tax dollars go and they spend it on a bunch of worthless crap they dont use then put it in the supply "closet" (it's really like supply BUILDING) and my dad asked wat they were going to do with all the stuff in the supply room when they were moving offices and the guy said "pitching it all" so my dad told me this and I got 4 pc monitors, the chair, and a bunch of cables for FREE! not to mention some laptops i sold on e-bay and used the money for audio stuff :)

I have a highback office chair, a low office type chair that I love, a drum stool and a backseat out of my minivan that seats two nicely.

Now if I just had some musicians to sit in them.:(

My studio is pretty small so I have a two seater couch which would really only fit one person, two executive office chairs (really comfortable!) and a bar stool (the guitarists seem to like this). Oh, and two EV S200 speakers! People are always sitting on them.

You could always hire your friends (for pizza) to stand around your studio, arms folded, head tilted slightly back, for a "tough band" studio picture :)

Let the bastards stand!! Just kidding. I have a nice overstuffed couch and a desk chair in the control room. I have a bunch of "Pizza Hut" chairs scattered in the control room and live room. Got them from a friend who manages a Pizza Hut when they remodeled. I put rubber cup "feet" on them so they wouldn't make noises on the floor. I try not to have too many chairs or there will be too many "hanger ons" in the studio distracting the band.

No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! Sofa should never fold out!

When the recording session is over, the musicians must leave and take their motormouth girlfriends with them!!!!!

I *WOULD* have put a couch there, John -- but you designed all those damn angled walls! :p

No such thing as a couch with an angled backrest!!!!

in the control room:

(1) high back office chair (for me!!!) lol
(1) 3 person sofa (black suede leather)
in the back of the control room, i have a high bar table with a chess board in the middle. around this i have 4 high bar stools with padded seats and backs on them.

studio:

(3) office style chairs with low backs and no arm rests for the guitarists
(1) 3 person sofa (black suede leather)
(1) easy chair (black suede leather)
(2) wood bar stools
and, there is always the floor for overflow! lol

oh yeah, check these sofas out. i got mine in a trade for studio time. but, they are comfortable, they have storage underneath, and best of all, they are CHEAP! great for a home or project studio application. they ship it standard ups to your door and you can have it assemble in about 30 minutes.
