What Software for Cubebase SE and E-MU 0404

I'm just starting and am already confused about software versions. I will be installing Cubebase SE and E-MU 0404 on a new hard drive and need to know which software is compatible with both. They specify Windows 2000 W/sp4 or Windows XP w/ sp1 or higher. Is this the home or professional edition. Looking for the cheaper way out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I use XP home with Cubase SE, no problems at all. I had it with SP1 and have since upgarded to SP 2 with no adverse effects.

I'm 99.99999999999999999999999999% sure the EMU would be fine with it too.

I just put together a similiar system. The only difference is I have used an M-Audio 2496 card but the Emu will function the same. I would use Win XP Home. It is cheaper than XP Pro and doesn't use as much ram as XP Pro (and when it comes to audio work stations - the more available ram the better). I would also like to suggest doing a web search for tweaks for Win XP when using it in an audio recording situation. I found some and it took about an hour to tune up my computer and it runs error free (and it's only an 800 P3 with Cubase SE). Good luck.
