what shuld i do

i have a peavey power pa mixer i play guitar and my freind does the vocals everytime we record either the guitar aint loud enough or his vocals aint loud enough ive tried plugging direct into the pa but then we cant here the vocals when we record on tape ive tried just miking the guitar amp but then the guitar aint loud enough when we record on tape could someone tell me the correct way and also everytime i mike the guitar cab i get alot of feedback and hum ive tried playing facing away should me and my freind record standing in seperate rooms please help

What are you recording onto and with what are you recording onto it?

maybe one of those mic tube preamps would be a good thing to try. I've seen them in musicians friend for $99

Try recording the tracks separately.

the harmon can only recoed us both at the same it a typical 2 track recorder any other sugestions what what might help to make a better recording
