What should i get for S/PDIF...ART?

I want to be able to use the S/PDIF in my Delta 1010, the ART DI/O mic pre has the converter in it, but I've been hearing a lot of different stuff about ART. It's only $160 so that is appealing but i don't want to buy crap. Any help would be awesome.......Josh
 
i think the Art Di/o unit that is $160 is just a converter(though it does give you 20db gain)...the dio preamp/converter goes for $250........
 
Oh ok I see, that's true. What about going from my mackie to the DI/O? That would be ok right? thanks
 
that would work great...i would be curious to hear the result...that DI/O will supposedly "warm up" a digital track really nice........
 
The Ultramatch goes for $149, so i wouldnt think the updated model will be cheaper...i think id stay with Art......

Adding 24/96 a/d and d/a converters and 24/96 compatability wont cost any extra? Copy-bit removal? Jitter removal? 3 different types of digital I/O (AES, S/PDIF and Optical) for $149? I'm sold..and I've never owned a Behringer product.
Then why would you go with ART?:confused:
Is there a ART product that even does this?
He can get a convertor only from ART for $189. Why pay so much more for so much less?

By the way, If you don't need 24/96 convertors or 24/96 capability, The Ultramatch is on EBay now for $35.00
