Hi all. Want to start doing some good quality home recordings but cant afford a mac at the moment. Was wondering what the next best thing to use on windows? Any reccomendations? Thanks.

There's nothing "next best" about using Windows for audio (or video) production. Reaper (REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits) is a good way to get started as it is a free demo and very affordable to buy. The main differences between programs are about workflow, not audio quality.
