Hi, I'm kinda new on here.
I was wondering what kinda plugins do you guys use? I use the Waves Diamond 5.2 Bundle alot. A lot of cool features on it. Anyone would like to recommend me on some good VST's that are for vocal effects such as hooks and such?

Hey man, welcome to the madness. not sure what you mean by "effects for hooks and such" although as a cool "fx" type plugin the Izotope Vinyl is always fun.

In terms of what kinda plugins i use i'm a big fan of the Focusrite Midnight Suite, the DDMF 6614, and Altiverb 6. unfortunately, as a Logic 9 kid, alot of the other plugs i use i'm not 100% sure there are VST equivalents, but the three above are all cross platform.

I have heard of this effect. Word on the street is it is perfect for those who "miss the sound of a needle on a record" and want to emulate it in their mix. :D

lol....:d

Check out the Antares AVOX kit. Antares is the company that mad the well-known autotune. They have a plugin called avox duo used for doubling vocals. You can adjust the timing, pitch and timbre difference between the doubles. There's one called avox sybil for sibilance issues, autotune for pitch porblems and even a tube compressor! It's a very awesome kit. Go get!!!

I love the UAD stuff, just make sure you have some dosh :D In all fairness, I bought a UAD core flexi and I got $800 worth of free plugs on a £325 card.. Can't complain, they do make a difference though.

Give the guy a break MM. He's only just starting out and already shelled out $1200 on Waves plugins

yikes! I wish I had that much cash to throw at plugins when I started out - especially before I knew which plugins I needed. ;)

I've slimmed my plugin collection right down since my upgrade to a new DAW - all I really run now are the stock ones that come with Sonar (plus the Pro Channel options) and my T-Racks collection

I don't really miss any of the old 32 bit, fairly shitty, freebies

I use the ones I buy.

Why do I use the ones I buy?

Because when you are a stupid thief with 200 different plugins to choose from, you never learn how to use those plugins. Instead you hop on the internet, because you have stolen so much shit and you have no idea what those plugins are capable of doing and ask:

"Anyone would like to recommend me on some good VST's that are for vocal effects such as hooks and such?"

If you had purchased those plugins, you would know they are more than adequate for mixing vocals. Stealing more plugins are not going to improve your shitty vocals. Nobody I know of would make an investment like that without having at least a little bit of a clue as to what they can do with them.

I recommend that you actually BUY a small set of plugins, learn how to use them, and stick with that plan. You will actually learn how to master those tools instead of noobing it up like the rest of your peers. What will happen is you will appreciate the investment you have made and actually put the time into learning how to use what you have bought.

No fucks will be awarded if you take offense to this. Get a small setup of plugins and go with that, even better use the included DAW plugins to start and then you can get an idea of what you want or feel you are missing. Contrary to popular belief, plugins that are included in most daws are more than adequate for mixing songs.

Since the question was asked though, here are the ones on my ilok: (except steven slate trigger, I bought that on black friday last year)

I also have others that are not ilok plugs. I recently purchased FxPansion's etch for $20 as a no brainer deal through audio midi. It's a pretty slick filter. Other plugs I have purchased that are not iloked are SIR 2, transient monster, Apptrigga and most likely a few more that I am forgetting.

Hail to you G!!!!!

I absolutely concur with you man. I have no sympathy for pirates whatsoever. As a moderator, I have to keep myself from 'assuming' that just because someone has thousands worth of software, yet does not know how to use an eq, that he could be a trust fund baby....

Screw that, I hate this guy!

If he does not reply, I will swing the hammer.

Hell, I'm just gonna axe him anyway.

haha. Fantastic.

You know I forgot all the drum libraries I own:

Addictive with the AD metal pack
Superior drummer 2 with the Music City, NY vol 2, Evil Drums, and Metal Foundry SDX libraries
EZ drummer with dfh, metal machine, metalheads, and nashville ezx add ons
Steven Slate Platinum 3.5
BFD eco

All bought on sale of course. ;)

You are a thrifty shopper, just like Jesus. He saves too! :)

Yikes, I should shut up before I say something stupid. lol

MaticAsstack hasn't been around for a week, so he has probably walked the plank on his own accord, due to the guilt he feels. Yeah, right.....

Oh, just to note, if I cut this guy, we loose all of this thread. Maybe it is better to keep it, so that others can see that pirates are lame. Not that any of them give a shizzle.
