Well I finally made the plunge and bought some modest gear to start on.
I have:
A Rode NT1
A Joe Meek Vc3 mic pre
A Korg D8
Sony MDR 7506 Headphones
Some Monster Cables.
Im still getting used to the D8, but when I get ready to move songs off the Hard drive what equipment should I record to? An ADAT? A standalone CD burner?
If you would be so kind please suggest equipment that is at or just slightly above the quality of the gear I already have.
Also any knowledge of compatability with the Korg D8 would be helpful.
I will also need some monitors. Can I get away with the Yorkville (YS1?) or should I move up to the 20/20?
I have no delusions of making a pro quality recording but would like to make demos for our band and eventually a CD or tape for folks that like to hear us at coffee houses and renaissance festivals etc.
Thanks so much,
Brother G
