HEy..Im new to the Forum btw..hi guys...I want to buy new reference monitors with a 300-400 USD budget..I use Fl ..Reason..and Ableton Live in 10 Ft x 8 Ft room what monitors do you suggest I buy..Im leanign toward behringer truths or krk rokits.. Are those good for my situation yes/no? if not what do you suggest?? Let me know im open to you guys suggestions thanx..

I've had truths for a few years now, I think they're great for the price. Never had anything high end to compare em to, but they sounds fine to me.. You can get a pair of the 8" 2031A's without going over your budget. The Rokit 8's will run you a little more, if you can't, you'll have to go with the 6's. I'd rather have the 8's.

Your room is small, but I don't think that'd be a factor in your decision. You'll have the same acoustic issues no matter what monitors you get. If I was you, I'd buy the truths, then spend the $ I saved on some room treatment.

thanks

I guess Ill roll with the Truths.. thanks so much sir..

You might look into some used monitors, I have Event TR-5's that I like pretty well, as long as they're setup as super near field (like at arm's length.)

You should also pickup a good pair of headphones and listen on them frequently, though not too loudly! They make a good way to check things like reverb and edits, especially if your room isn't fantastic.

what headphones should I get

Im guessing akg or beydynamic?

I highly recommend AKG Studio 240's. They're $99 new on ebay, can't beat em for that price.
