What monitors do you suggest?

Yeah I know go down to GC and do a test...

Now that that is out of the way I'm looking for some 8" monitors. I primarily mix hiphop/rnb.

I have maybe 1000.00 to spend I prefer active monitors (one less piece of equipment I need to buy)

You might want to look into a pair of Event's Presicion 8 powered monitors. Might run you just over $1000/pair, but I think you'd find it worth the extra $$.
