Hello, I have no idea what mics my band should buy for micing drums. I want to get good ones that I can make good quality recordings with. Any advice or information on the matter will help.
Thanks in advance.

I´m glad to be the first one in reply you.

with a regular budget:
2 overheads, let say shure sm94. ($160 each)
1 for the kick akg d112. ($200)
1 for the snare sm57 ($90)

this is (I think) an exelllent start, but you can find a lot of information about wich mics you are looking for your sound.

you have to understand a lot of things before you spend your money. homerecording.com bring you a lot of information about the diferent kinds of mics, and in the forums are a lot of information about this topic.

note.
tune drums, prepare the room, mic placement,
how to mic drums, etc...
