Hello all,
we are noew trying to decide on which mic to spend the money and we have left only today to deicide
the two mic in question are:
Studio Projects C1
Rode NT1000
and the sound we're shooting for its something
like those of alanis morissette and lise loeb,
or something in that style

so here are examples, I know its a metter of taste, but tell me what you think

thank you all for the help

ps - its in hebrew so just comment the sound diffrences

c'mon guys
please write your opinions .. I want as much as I can, this is a big desicion especialy
since the NT1000 costs a 100$ more (and comes without a shockmount)

let me hear you

Well, I'm not sure what instruments you plan on recording, but check out The Listening Sessions for a healthy list with examples of some top mics.

I've used the C1, on a singer with a voice that's a cross between Jewel and Sarah McLachlan, with excellant results.

i would prefer tha Audio technicha 4040... between the rode and C1... i have never used a rode.. but the C 1 sounds very nice for m the vox ive recorded with it .

Neither of those is a good choice on her voice. They completely lack the response at the lower end of her vocal range where the quality of her sound is. They also accent the gutteral sounds excessively.

You need something more rich in the 700-1500 range and less high end hyped. Those two mics sound stiff and unresponsive in that zone.

Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure but hey, get to a rental shop and try something like a neumann, soundelux, if you can afford it. I would think a ribbon or even one of the AT mics which are mid range focused would be better.

These two mics are good for a male voice where you want the lower part of the vocal rolled off and some pizzaz on the high end.

Your only other option is to try some different preamps.
