What kind of cable from Radio to hook up DMP3 to 24/96?

I heard its best to hook the preamp directly to the sound card.

My problem is Im trying to hook my brand new DMP3 directly to my 24/96 sound card. what cable or adapter would I need from radio shack so that the mic sound doesnt sound phased out? I tryed using the phase buttons on the dmp3 and it doesnt help. I know for a fact its the cables Im using.

I tryed using a stereo y adapter from the dmp3 to the 2 rca inputs on the 24/96. The sound is still competely phased out.
 
i found the problem. I went to rs to get mono 1/4 to rca L and right . Fixed problem. Mic sounds a ton better than going thrru behringer.
