What is this stuff?

i recently acquired a BUNCH of recording stuff from my uncle... he just gave it to me! along with this stuff was about 20 CD's (recording software), most of them acid... what is this program.. how does it work, how good of quality is it? tell me about it

Seriously though, acid's not bad. I have it...don't use it that much. It's not my software of choice but it ain't bad. ....It's good for electronic music and loops and other stuff too..Is it good quality?? Sure it is.....If your just starting out, it may be difficult to use at first, and there is really no way I can tell you "how it works" w/o typing a small novel. What else did you get??
 
Difficult to use? It's a piece of cake. Install it and do the tutorials and you'll be making tracks in nothing flat.

The 20 CDs must be collections of ACID loops -- they are the raw material for constructing music with ACID.
 
YES! they (well, some) say, like "Rock loops, or techno loops, etc...".. also, i have "Acid pro 2.0, CD Architect 4.0, Pandora's toolbox, and lots of loops... " yeah, it's all 2.0.. i must be WAY behind the game then?

No- I was just razzing yer ass for not being specific about the titles involved.... :D

Acid 4 mainly added alternate Time Signatures which is important to me but may be ho-hum to you.

Acid is a fairly decent platform for MIDI and Audio in general.

The loops will never be out of date. The set will continue to expand but that will not affect the usefulness of those that came before.

The really exciting part of this (for me, anyway) is the ability to create your own loops thru both MIDI and Audio.

Read the manual and get busy having FUN!
 
ACID 2 is great... you might be able to upgrade it for $99 or so but even if you don't you can do an incredible job with 2.0
 
i upgraded from 2.0 to 4.0 for $99. i believe this offer is good till the end of the month. i've found 4.0 to be somewhat glitchy with softsynths and just totally weirdo stuff happening (no crash feature yet), however, the GUI is very nice.....so much better than that cakewalk stuff.
 
Whatever you do...................DON'T DO THE BROWN ACID!:D :D
