What is this effect called and how do you do it?

Oh yeah, I mainly use Logic Pro 9, should you have any specific instructions!

It sounds to me like tape stop. It's a plugin to emulate a tape slowing down. Google it and you can find instructions on how to use it. It's also free, look on kvr web site. You could also get the dame effect using a digitech whammy pedal set to dive bomb. Although it sounds like tape stop to me.

I also think logic has a built in effect for this. Look on YouTube. I'm pretty sure they have a video tutorial .

You can do this in Logic Pro 9 very easily.

1. Select the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of Logic that has a black cursor in it.
2. From the drop-down list, select "Fade Tool."

3. Drag over part of an audio sample that you want to slow down.
4. Right click on the area you dragged over.
5. Click "Slow Down."

You can do that with just about any delay effect by twisting the delay time knob. Of course it will go back to normal speed once the delay time settles.

You dont need a 3rd party plug in for this i dont think.

you can get that effect pretty well if you do this.

go to the plug in box, scroll down to audio units, go to pitch, and then automate it to slide down in pitch on the part that you want to sound like a tape stopping.

How do you do these effects?..And yes, some are Hip Hop Effects

One effect Ive been wanting to add to my Arsenal is an effect where you bring the pitch on a given vocal section down way low ( Screwed , in Hip Hop Terms). Not only do i want to bring it down, but I want it to be a gradual change from the normal pitch.

Another effect Ive been trying to achieve is an effect that is used in EVERY scary movie ever. The one where Someone is talking and they sound Very Evil. There is massive reverb on the vocals , I know that, but what else goes into this??

Look for this stuff on youtube and there is usually a tutorial for these effects. Most are done with plugins and automation. Even if they use a different daw its generally the same steps in all.
