Taking the slow road
Guitammer Buttkicker Concert Sonic Shaker anyone?

can I use it to feel a click track or drum machine while I practice drums or whatever?

I guess it's speaker level and needs an amp?

It goes from 5-200hz only, not good for click tracks or anything but serious low freq. stuff It's a motor, basically. It's a big piston that moves up and down. Needs a 400 watt minimum amp, and you gotta mount it to your drum throne. Never heard one, always been curious. The woman on the site looks like she's feelin' it..........

Buttkicker

It's just a little bit expensive. $200 and then $400 for their amp. and it's 2 ohms. and you need to supply it w/ 200hz and lower.

It's actually a motor. It's a moving piston. It doesn't produce "sound" per se. You bolt it to the floor, or drum throne, or whatever and it just shakes at the right frequency. They use them a lot in big rides.

Butkicker Function

Being of the noble drummer type(rude, obnoxious, insensensitive, etc.), I would like to point out the need for a Buttkicker. Because the kickdrum is the only one mounted horizontally, we cannot really hear it as well as the toms and snare. Also given the fact that we can't even feel the response with our feet(even when barefoot) as we can through sticks, there is a need to transmit an equal feedback from the kick.So we buzz our rearends!!!

Bass Player reviewed them a few months back.

The primary use as our drummer said is to feel the low frequency not to hear it. The reviewers thought they could be useful for helping the bass and bass drum lock in really tight especially if you live onstage monitoring is not ideal.

I suppose they could be usefull in tracking and mixing for the same purpose.

Too much money for non audio effect for me as far as the Butt Kicker but the Bass Shakers may be interesting someday.
