practice amp with an earphone jack, it will work as a direct in. Let me clarify. I record electric guitar direct this way. For my purposes it works great. I get all the tonal functions of the amp with none of the speaker noise. I don't know your set up but, I record in to an analog mixer with direct outs to an Alesis 24 track hard disk recorder. I've had no problems with this set up. I never owned the recomended Countryman D.I. but I figured I didn't need to spend the money if the above described method works. I hope this may help.
