What is the difference between (P) and (J) pick-ups?

I will try to post an mp3 of the noise in a day or two and i looked at the item u showed me and i dont think that will help cuz im using mics. Not line in. I use many kinds of mics. Also want to add that i use the battery of the laptop so how can it be a ground loop?

The Precision is virtually the industry standard bass in the studio.
No frills with a fabulous tone. Of course, I'm talking about Fender.
Other brands are good and what's best is always subjective.

A P-J set up is going to widen the scope of the bass since the
J pickup is 99% at the tail piece. I suggest a bass with a bolt
on neck instead of neck through construction. It's part of the
mystique of the P bass. I'm a 4 string player. There's nothing
wrong with going 5 sting but it's going to sound different
because of the extra mass of the neck and bridge. Well, unless
you're going to use electronics to drastically change the tone.

When I play orchestral music I tune my E to a D. Sometimes I'll
do that with the electric on rock gigs.

and spurs got spanked as well. Local Blue Square team I take the lads to won 5-0 Monday as well. Good weekend.
