I read it in a lot of places and I don't have a clue of what it is. Can anybody help?
Thanks, Andrés

Lets say you did a multi track recording on a DAW at 24 bits and 96KHz sampling rate. You rendered all of that to a stereo track and you want to put that on a CD. To do that, you have to make that into a 16 bit/44.1KHz sampling rate. You'd dither the bit depth from 24 bits to 16 and you'd re-sample from 96KHz down to 44.1.

thanks. So it's just another way of saying sample rate conversion. Cheers, Andrés

It would be funny if it was sampling a sample..........

when rappers start start doing that you'll know that all artistic integrity is gone forever :D

Sorry to tell you this

Actually some rap producers have been doing this for a few years now.

And not just rappers either, and it also doesn't inheritently mean that the "integrity" of the music/artist is "gone forever." I could point you in the direction of some tunes that create a whole new meaning of what "integrity" entails, and are based almost solely on (re)sampled sounds.

I know .....Laj35........I'm down with sampling and I listen to quite a bit of music that uses samples.....although, it's not my main interest and I couldn't tell you if they are resampling or not......

As far as that intergrity stuff....I know that many people have found extremely creative ways of rehashing suonds that I would never even think of in a million years..People that surely have integrity.........I was just pretty much being a sarcastic wise guy.....and that's why I used one of these :D

Yeah, I guess I missed that smiley dude, sorry...should'a known you were just being a wise acre :):)
