what is my CHARISMA

I like it. Almost a little Boston feel to it. I really like the guitar sounds you have going. Performed well too. Like the vocal delays.

The only nit-pick I have is the deeper voice that comes in around the 4:00 mark. Not musical and out of tune. Sounds like someone who doesn't have a deep voice trying to make their voice sound deep, and it's not working. I'd change that.

Other than that, great job, great mix.

I think I've heard this before from you, but with the different guitars. Performance wise it's pretty much dead-on to the original. Everything is performed very, very well. If you're trying to perfectly imitate the original sound, I think the guitars and bass miss the mark a little. They need a little more meat. These guitars have the nice palm-muted attack of the original version, but they're a little too thin sounding. The bass could use a little less high-mids too. Drums sound pretty good for this song. Vocals could be a little louder too. Overall though, GREAT performance on a pretty obscure KISS song. :)

Personal anecdote: This was my favorite song when I was 7 years old. I listened to the "Dynasty" album, and this song in particular, over and over so many times that my mom had to buy me another copy of the record. I literally wore it out. To this day, my mom hates this song more than anything else. :D

hey Greg...yes, you're spot on..I revised the rith gits yesterday, just want to get it 'right' before giving the cd (9-10 songs) to the masterers.
I was hoping that it would contain 'my sound' as with the other kiss stuff i've done...no point in going verbatim with this stuff, I'd end up always coming last!

I've had a couple of good/bad comments now (friends also) re the phrasing/talking vox at the end...?..do u think it's a little too much?...I kinda like it..but then ......?????

Again Greg, always appreciate your words.
Cheers,
Spit.

I hear ya. It certainly sounds good, I just didn't know how close you were trying to get with the guitar sound. It's fine as-is

I like the talking vox at the end. That's the way the song goes. You're not Gene Simmons, so you're not gonna sound just like him. I think you did a good job with it.

Kool Mr Spit. I love your vocals, you sound as close to Gene as anyone is gonna get. I also have heard this from you before and the only thing I would like to hear differently is the snare...too boxy (nasally)???!!!

Also at the 2:22 mark.....there is a few high hat drop outs.....!!!   Check it out!! It sounds like the drum tracks have been erased for a split second.

Pretty good though superspit..just beef the guitars up slightly, maybe a little more lows.....a minor nit pick. I also love this KISS tune...:)

Thanx for sharing!

I was very much hoping that Gorty and Greg were going to comment when I posted this........man, I was lucky!!
Hey Mr.Greg, that Torpedo Girl is soooo tricky mate!.....still 'workin' on that one!!..(man you got a great memory!!)
Hey Mr. Gorty!..I had a look at 2:22 on the multi-track, the hats specifically, and there is no signal there at 2:22!!...I thought at first that maybe my compressor was being a bit over enthusiastic, so I checked my raw hat track, and it still wasn't to be found...kookey stuff...I'll have to check the original, then chat with the drummer, maybe that's how it is....thanx for showing me this mate.
Snare sound?, yes...I knew that when my drummer showed up last week to re-record the drums, and said "I wanna try something", there was a potential for trouble.
Everytime he says that I cringe a little....that's why I refuse to drive in a car with him.

Hey guys...rock-on! (Gorty,no more club news-letters??)

Yeah I agree about the snare. It could be better. I didn't really pick up on it at first because I was mainly focused on the guitars.

Hey superspit, the G.F.C.G Newsletters have been on hold, but maybe I might get to getting another one out! I have just been slack! :o

Dinasty was my first album ever:D

Great guitars and overall playing. Vocals were great too!

Inspiring work Sspit, just inspiring. Two thumbs up!!

Cheers!

The hi-hats have too much highs on them. They're very sharp and hard on the ears. And actually, the whole mix sounds like it has way too much highs mixed in. I would cut them a bit all the way around.

The guitars don't sit well in the mix. They kind of sound out of place. At least in the beginning. Maybe it's because they sound a little too loud for the mix. I didn't notice so much later on in the song. But maybe that's because I was distracted by the obscene amount of reverb/delay on your vocals.

The bass around 3:55 needs to have the highs cut. There's an annoying click that either sounds like a pick hitting the strings or the strings hitting the pickups. Either way, it doesn't sound too good.

The song itself is ok... It just needs some tweaks. It definitely sounds like it was made way back in the 70's. Kudos for that, I guess.

Really good obscurity recovery. I agree about the mid highs in the bass. Otherwise flash job.
As stated before my fav Kiss LP is Hotter Than Hell - shows my age I guess.

ya'all have to be nice to me today, as it's my birthday......tomorrow you can rip shreds off it again!!
Cheers,......and thankyou for the comments so far.

Awesome job on these obscure KISS songs. I just checked out The Oath and A Million To One too....nice !

Now, If I only knew who KISS is :D

wow!!...thankyou so much RRO!!.....Thanks for taking the time!!
The 'raw' CD of nine songs and final engineer notes are about to be sent off to the masterer....hoping to get some sparkle and flow into the tunes soon.
Cheers,!!!!!!
