Hello anyone out there who can give me some ideas about: A good DI-box. I would like to know some brands you can recommend, perhaps tell me also a little about the features of the box. I am looking for one which has a jack low signal as output, just as well as a XLR-balanced output, though the last seems to be standard anyway.

Cheers.

The Radial recommended above is a great choice, as is a countryman. My favorites are made by Little Labs, but they are a bit on the pricey side. There is no need to get something packed with extra features. All DIs will have an instrument out and and XLR out (mic level) and the should also have a ground lift and a phase reverse switch.

Spend a little extra money and get a good DI, like the ones mentioned above. Its a great investment that will help your recordings a lot and last you a long time. A cheapo DI will hurt your sound.

Thank you Deepwater [visited the link and it all makes sense] and Ronan, for the quick response, much appreciated

if the countryman is too expensive take a look at the whirlwind director.

Avalon U-5. Only one.

Thank you people [bgavin, crosstudio and acorec] for all the info about the DI-boxes. Hey it is such a small thing but there is so much to know about it, it is just like anything in this world, there is more than what meets the eye. So at the moment I am scratching my head about which one I will get. I will do some searching around the place where I live [Leeds, UK] and take it from there. So thank you again guys for all the ideas and info.
