This cute little thang...

I'm not expecting much in the way of finish, but it should be fun.

I'll probably butcher it, just to see if I can get a rise out of notCardio. :D

I'll ask for the "vintage sunburst" finish, though...

how much do they cost?

the sunburst is nice
$399.00 for the dual pickup, $349.00 for the single. I'm going for the dual.

Can't beat the price.

thats what i tought but with that price tag i was'nt sure

if that was in a shop over here i would'nt be surprised to see a 1000euro tag on it

some nice tones in the vid

Melody Makers are nice little guitars. The pickup Gibson is using in the new model sounds pretty decent - I was surprised when I saw the price ...

My birthday is in 3 weeks. If I get the MM I'll post my impressions.

thats pretty cheap what model is it...

ya id go for the duo

Raven, our side of the pond they are 400 sterling. So you're looking at 600 euro if you can find one (which is 750 dollars). Sucks, don't it?

Of course, you could order it sight unseen from the net, but with shipping and customs/vat charges, you're still gonna be screwed.

Sweet looking guitar, though. I want one. Is this Gibson's way of doing a Highway One on things? American made, solid hardware, but cheap finish.

Yes, I think so. The finish is probably on par with the "faded" SGs.

Exactly the same thing as the "faded" finish models (which is awesome). The Melody Maker is perfect for recording - simple but effective. Also excellent as a backup guitar.

ya its a joke, i bought a hamer and case last year from music123 cant remember the price but when it got here i had to pay a couple 100euro on tax and before that i bought a les paul case from them and payed another ball load of money on tax,

that was a complete nightmare when i got the hamer the neck was broke i sent it back and they sent another and the neck was also broke on that one so i just got my money back minus a percentage of the tax i payed, no wonder we call it RIP OFF IRELAND

ive seen imitation and jap fenders and gibsons in a shop in limerick selling for 800 to 1000euro, the type of guitars you can get on ebay for 1cent, its a total disgrace, ive never bought from them and warn people away but they are making sales

I wonder what that Melody Maker would sound like with a couple of Hot Rails installed?

Kickass I'd say, although a large part of the appeal for me is the single coil sound.

I've gotten to where I really like single coil most of the time. The only thing they can't do well is push an amp hard.
