"Yellow fever" might be a bit rude to some of our asian friends on the boards don't ya think?
The capsules in the M179 are made in China I know, but the mic is assembled in the USA. I'm assuming this is still the practice at CAD concerning that mic. The M9 is assembled in the US as well with I believe a Chinese made capsule.
Like so many items, many of the parts are sourced from China.
The VX2 is my go to mic in the studio, it's got color that is so rock n' roll it ain't funny...but sounds amazing on anything I point it at. The VSM has the 1.1" capsule the VX2 used but it is being discontinued. The M9 is a great tube mic, nice flavor to have around and pretty "tube-y" sounding. Great for cab work, some vocals etc.
I've used that E100-2 (squared) mic and it is indeed a useful electret condensor. Acoustic guitar etc. but maybe not a go to vocal mic.
Their kick mic sucks in my opinion, I only tried it once but man I hated it. Big hyped low end...just what you DON'T need in most mixes!
CAD does indeed make good mics, but they don't seem to market as well as many of the big boys do.
