wHAT ESLSE?

Hey,
I just got my new(er) computer. a 1.2 GHz, 256 RAM and 40 gig HD. I am going to install the M-Audio Delta 44 Sound Card when Guitar Center gets some more in. I was wondering though... if I get a soundcard with 1 output and get a mixer, would the be the same? Do i need he Delta 44? I plan on making rythm tracks on my computer and recording bass direct and miking my amp. I would like to be able to record 2 tracks at the same time, maybe I dont need to get the Delta 44, would something else be "just as good" for my needs?

You need 2 outs actually, left and right. If you are doing everything yourself live and direct, you can probably live with a 2 in 2 out card like the Delta Audiophile. That way you can record 2 mono or 1 stereo source. If you think yuo might ever want to record drums any time, the 2 extra inputs will help alot. AND If you ever get into digital gear, you may wish you had the Delta66, which has the digital connections also.

Just some stuff to think about.
