There's this screw between the RCA outs on my Fostex A2. Can't tell if it's original or some sort of mod. Anyway, it prevents me from putting the RCA plugs all the way in (they go in about 75%). I use the RCA out to connect the Fostex A2 to my Masterlink. Obviously I want the best signal coming out that I can get. Does the screw ground something? Should I remove it?

I have no idea. Have you ever taken the back cover off? does it come off?

On further reflection, it seems the screws were there to hold the back cover on. There's only one now (between the RCA outs). Anyway they do seem to prevent the RCA plug from going all the way in. But the signal seems to be getting across okay.
