My software say it's "Cubase LE AI Elements 7". What does this mean?

Cubase LE is often bundled for free with other products, similar to the way Ableton Live Lite is, so I think "LE" stands for "Lite Edition."

I think "AI" stands for "Advanced Integration."

But I don't know for sure, so hopefully someone else will either confirm or correct this.

LE comes with non Yamaha/Steinberg interfaces. AI comes with interfaces made by Yamaha/Steinberg. It may mean Audio Interface for all I know.

I am not sure there is any real difference between the two but I could be wrong.

Thanks guys. I was just curious. Originally I got Cubase "LE" with a Tascam us-144. Then upgraded to Elements7...BTW I'm loving this software. Next year I'll get a rig capable of running the "big boy" & upgrade @ that point....

Yes indeed these gentleman are correct. LE stands for lite edition and AI is advanced integration. :)

Nothing wrong with rolling with the cheaper stuff. I used LE for at least a year before moving to studio, used studio for another year or 2 before finally going full version.

I will say though, you don't know what you are missing till you upgrade.
