What do you use to mix all your synths and keyboards for live performances?

OK, thanks for the responses. Jake-owa, unfortunately your mixer has too many features and is out of my price range for what I need.

Sonic Albert, you mention the Yamaha tabletop mixers ... any in particular? I just need to mix 3 (preferably stereo) sources into a (preferably) stereo output. I see a lot of inexpensive things on the market today that claim to do this simple task. So the Minimixer doesn't cut it, but do you (or does anyone else) know anything about:

Nady RMX6 (does anyone know if Nady makes acceptable quality, or do they have QC issues?)

ART PowerMix

Rolls MiniMix (again, not sure of Rolls' quality ...)

I'm just trying to avoid getting excessively geared up if I don't have to. I don't need a full-featured mixer, but it'd be nice if I can get a decent sound out of whatever I'm running through.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

gg

Yamaha just came out with a new series of mixers, I think it's the "MG" series, as in MG/16, MG/24, etc. I checked them out at the NAMM show in January and they looked pretty good, although I didn't have an opportunity to listen to them. If I was looking for a small tabletop mixer I'd put them in consideration right along with the Mackies.

Samson also makes a small two space rack mixer called the PL-1602 that may interest you. It looks a lot like what you are describing and has a nice feature set. I have no idea about the price or quality, as I've never owned Samson gear, but Samson is generally an affordable brand. The link is here:

The thing about mixers is to buy more channels than you think you need. So if you think you need 3 stereo channels, buy 8 stereo channels. I'm not kidding, you will fill up those channels way faster than you ever believe you could.

I used a Behringer ultralink when I took my keyboard rig on the road last year. It wasn't mine, I borrowed it from a friend. Cheap, one unit, and pretty handy. Not too many channels though.

And for the midicontrol, my main keyboard is a Roland A90. All the controls you need, 4 midi outs, no need for anything else. Just program the patches and go.
