Yes, the CD, its in the mail going to FL!
Old days, New days...144, 2488. I paid nearly the exact same for both, that still amazes me! the upgrade is faster than rewinding a cassette... its that simple.
Mixing 101: summer break is over...
I've got to start a new tune and will return to my long winded questions on mixing 101. Tho my last song was a big improvement for me, i can still hear alot of things that aren't jelling or missing..but can't put my fader on it!
The Reel, thats why your the man, for being real. I dig it, and you know many pro's never went digital. They still play analog acoustic guitars.
i agree if it stiffles the creative juices, its just no good no matter what it is for you. whether its a guitar feel or analog/digital, menus or splicing 2" tapes.
I can't wait for your 2488 Weekend testdrive... it'll be interesting, and if nothing else funny!
reminder: You won't get a refund if you take a hammer to it tho!
you know my upgrade goals were met.
not only did it offer me to keep tracking & grooving with 24,
it also satisfied my urge to get a Masterlink/limiter too for burning CD's!
then i added the Joe Meek Channel Strip so I can have my Analog interface (with lit up analog VU meter and everything!!)
so this reduced the initial Menu hell fear. which doesn't scare me anymore really.
plugged my 2488 outs to the Tascam PA150 and hooked up some little BW303's and built some speaker stands DIY's and its very comfortable. yes indeed. (but i'm still a speaker whore and would like to hear every one of em!)
the big thing tho was the skills, if you've read my babbling threads.
BMWerks Tracking 101...keep it simple.... keep the groove..stop the burn out.
so really for Tracking, there isn't any eqing, panning, and menus sht goin down. its just fun, simple, fresh.
now when tracking is over...and the gear is cleaned and put away,
i can sit down with some coffee or rum/coke...and Mix.
or should i say "try to mix"? doh! whtever its more enjoyable to Track and Mix in this manner.
