Hey Everyone,

I had Guitar Tracks Pro given to me to try and I have created a song. I have converted the song file to a .WAV format and have burned it to a CD. Here is my problem. My first attempt I had not bounced all of the tracks down to one track, thus I think that is why my levels were all over the place. O.K. I fixed that problem and everything seemed to be good, alas, not good. My levels are fine now but the CD will only play on my computer (PC). When I put the CD in a regular CD player it plays kind of, skips and jumps all over the place. I thought that the problem was that I was using CD-RW's instead of CD-R's. I went and bought CD-R's and that does not seem to fix the problem. Has anyone run into this problem before? Thanks for the help.

Does it play OK in your CD-ROM drive?

So far everything I've burned with my Plexwriter plays fine on all my systems- even the cheapo Sharp boom-box in my garage.

What kind of disks are you using? I've had good results with Imation & TDK's but the Plexwriter doesn't seem to be picky about media quality.

Thanks for the reply. The CD plays fine on my computer, levels are great & sounds really good. I take the same CD and go to anything else and man is it ugly. I am using Memorex CD-R's.

I am new to the CD Burning thing. Do you have to format them like in the old daz? (showing my age).

By the way, Guitar Tracks Pro is really fun for the money.

Thanks

If the disks play fine in your puter then I would say it's probably a media thing. I never liked Memorex tape (dating myself!:D so I wouldn't trust their disks (although they could be made at the same factory as other brands). Try some better quality media and see if that solves it.

If not it may be your players (try some others) or your burner.:(

make sure you're finalizing the cd as well as the session. sometimes if you don't finalize the cd, it won't play in normal cd players. just a thought.

Make sure you're making an audio CD and not a data CD and that the wave you're making the CD from is at 16 bit/ 44.1k. Also be sure to burn "disc at once" and to make sure the disc is closed.

I have had nothing but problems with memorex my self...
Try some TDK or Imation, and like Track Rat said make sure you are getting audio cd's and not data cd's. If yoy have an old burner you might want to think about an upgrade but I agree with others here. It's more than likely a media problem.

Great suggestions from everyone. Just to clarify do you hear any music when you play it on other cd players or is it a bunch of digital noise?

Making not getting. The media are the same. The only difference between audio and data cd's is that the audio variety have the RIAA anti-piracy "tax" on them.

Or so I learned right here.

True. CD-RAs have the SCMS bit pre burned onto the disc.
