A) No one can even hazard a guess as to your mastering processing without actually hearing the original mixes.

B) That "Hypnotic Beats" (female voice tag) is actually capable of cutting through the human brain. I don't think I've ever heard that much sibilance -- on non-sibilant consonants.

You probably mean mixes instead of mastering. And the MP3 clinic is where you should post you submissions for comments.

And I really wish someone like Massive would go to the clinic every so often and give a professional ear to some of us lame-oh's. But don't worry John, when I finsih up my next batch of songs, I'm sending them to you for mastering and you're gonna HAVE to listen to them then. bwuhahahahaaaa!! :D

You are very good at beats, mixing and mastering. I see you sell lots of beats on your website. Good luck and hope you get lots of sales. :D

Wow. I can't believe you said that.... Like really. When I hear well mastered music I certainly don't need to hear the studio mix to tell.

How much of that "well mastered music" is the work of the mix engineer and how much it is the work of the mastering engineer??

I guess that would depend for sure. Team effort.
Mixing is like making coffee. A bad mixer and the coffee tastes like crap and may have a few grains floating in it. Mastering is like re-filtering to remove coffee grains, adding water to clear the mud, and a touch of cream and sugar to make it taste good.

(@ Chili) No doubt. The best sounding stuff that leaves here is typically the best sounding stuff that comes in.

I'd love to take a bunch of credit for some of them -

But in many cases -- ESPECIALLY cases such as this -- where you're trying to find out what didn't go right - and when - it's nearly impossible to tell.

I remember this a bit -- I have no idea if that tag would've cut through my gray matter before the mastering stage - Or before the mixing stage for that matter.

It's easy to tell when everything went right. Though still, when everything goes right before it gets here, my job is to keep doing those things.

Many people still blame the mastering engineer (TJ) for Death Magnetic... S'not the case.
